This is the Youth SHow on 4zZz(On 102.1 fm -ying). Apologies for the tardyness. Tonight was fun as Carlie from RadioBubble droppped in to speak about her piece. WE played it and it was about actors and how their careers change when they get agents and stuff. Thanks Carlie! More RadioBubble goodness next week, promise! Exciting!
EDIIIIIT: tonight was humiliating because i, ying, am an idiot and can't talk properly. however i blame that on the fact that i have been partying down mega hard during these holidays...!! spending every night at home on the computer can be extremely exhausting, you know.

PLAYLIST
ADAM GREEN - Emily FUGAZI - Full Disclosure TURNPIKE - Like A Highway (1) HUGGY BEAR - Pansy Twist BANGS - Kinda Good MINK LUNGS - Black Baloons SCOUT NIBBLETT - Lullaby for Scout in 10 Years (2) SHELLAC - Prayer to God (3) SPOD - 2131 Rid Wit Me IRON ON - Old Cat ELATION - Let the Wind Blow
(1) This is a classic song, six minutes of choppy guitars and yelling. Great locals. New record is due very soon.
(2) The new album from wacky-queen Scout Nibblett is excellent. It's called Kidnapped by Neptune, and she just finished touring the US with The Microphones/Mt. Eerie to promote it. Out on 4AD/Too Pure, making her labelmates with Electrelane + The Mountain Goats. Add the two together and you get some idea.
(3) Only short, but a brilliant song of rit's brutality and Steve Albini's delivery. No one else could do this song as well, but many shit metal acts try for some reason. Classic classic classic.

VISIBLE INK FESTIVAL 2005: CULTURALINK!
CulturaLink is happening on Saturday, 21st of May from 11am until 7pm. It’s going to be a FREE day of workshops, exhibitions, free food, performances and bands!
On the day, there will be performances by the Zambiacongo Capoeira Group and the hip hop dance troop, Shorty’s Crew, plus live acts such as Dub Doubt, Reverend Green, The Serenity, The Citizens, Duck Politik among others! There will also be exciting workshops to get involved in such as self-defence, hip hop dance, writing, painting and drawing, street art, environment activism plus more! Also, on display, will be the works of talented young Brisbane artists. Free food will be provided on the day by the people from Food Not Bombs, so come along and get into it!
CulturaLink’s aim is to act as a day for young people to celebrate the cultural diversity of Brisbane by showing off what the young people of Brisbane can do. We hope that this day will inspire and motivate young people to take on their own projects using the resources available to them at Visible Ink. What makes CulturaLink unique in terms of festivals is that we promote the participation and involvement on the day and also in the process leading up to the festival. It’s a festival for young people, by young people.
CulturaLink is proudly supported by Brisbane City Council and 4zzz community radio (102.1)
For more information, contact the festival team on 34030138 or e-mail xfrancax@hotmail.com . Or log on to www.visible-ink.org or www.4zzzfm.org.au |
